The band celebrated its 60th anniversary with a dinner in Lighter's Restaurant at Lisburn Civic Centre on 6th November. Among the 42 diners were five founder members, Lexie Burrows, Cecil McMullan, Frankie Nolan, Robert Doak and Beattie Doak. Robert Doak who now resides in Lanarkshire had flown in especially for the dinner. Four of the founder members were presented with cuff links and tie pins and Lexie Burrows who still plays with the band after 60 years was presented with a silver mounted inscribed practice chanter. Scott Wallace from St Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band, and a former member of Drumlough, presented Lexie with a 6/8 March he had composed for him and then played the tune for Lexie. After dinner the band relaxed and were entertained by the fabulous singing and guitar playing of Billy Paynter. The band were especially grateful for the attendance of the R.S.P.B.A. County Down Section Chairman, Willie Connolly and his good lady wife Bess.   Go to Gallery to see all the photos.
